After the successful German series Dark, Netflix orders the production of 3 new German series, including Barbarians. The Netflix original series is directed by Barbara Eder, Steve Saint Leger. Created by Arne Nolting, Jan-Martin Scharf and Andreas Heckmann, it arrives on Netflix on October 23.
The series follows several Germanic tribes as they unite to challenge the nearly invincible Roman legions in a legendary battle: the battle in the Teutoburg Forest will change the history of Europe. At the center of this bloody confrontation are three childhood friends who are linked by a tragic destiny. They become the most important force in the fight against the superior Roman power. Their path is marked by loyalty and betrayal, love and hate, and ultimately proves to be a dramatic test of the friendship between three young people.
