Cobra Kai is based on The Karate Kid franchise. The series is a sequel to the popular martial arts film. The first two seasons originally from YouTube were created by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg. In 2020 they move to Netflix where their first two seasons premiere on August 28. Cobra Kai season 3 will premiere in 2021.
Cobra Kai Netflix series takes place 30 years later of the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, where a now successful Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) He struggles to maintain balance in his life without the guidance of Mr. Miyagi, and must face his former adversary, Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), who seeks redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai karate dojo.
