Between tears and laughter

Dark's story begins in 2019, but extends through time travel to include storylines in 1986 and 1953. As certain characters from the main families become aware of the existence of a wormhole in the cave system beneath the local nuclear power plant , which is under the management of the influential Tiedemann family.
In the first season, secrets begin to be revealed about the Kahnwald, Nielsen, Doppler and Tiedemann families. Their lives begin to unravel as the ties between the missing children and the stories of the city and its citizens become evident.
The second season continues attempts by families to reunite with their missing loved ones. Several months after the end of the first season, in 2020, 1987 and 1954, respectively. Additional stories set in 2053 and 1921 add aspects to the mysteries, and explore the secret Sic Mundus community, a major force in an underlying battle for the ultimate fate of the people of Winden. As the season counts down to the apocalypse, the destruction of Winden and the death of many of its inhabitants.
The third season follows the events that happened immediately after the apocalypse in Winden, the stories of the past and future, and the introduction of another world, revealing the origin of the loop. There are also additional stories set in 1888.
