The 6 episode series is created and written by Stefan Jaworski and directed by Roni Ezra. Elves series Netflix It premieres on the 28th November, and is based on an original idea by Jannik Tai Mosholt and Christian Potalivo, who also executive produce in collaboration with Peter Bose and Jonas Allen of Miso Film.
The series on Netflix follows a family hoping to reconnect over Christmas as they travel to a remote island in the Danish archipelago, but soon discover it is under the control of members of a religious community, who live in balance with fierce woodland creatures… elves.
These real, monstrous beings inspired the folklore stories and myths we all know. When the family's youngest finds and brings home a baby elf, her innocent action upsets the balance on the island and sparks a life-or-death battle in the name of faith, family, and survival.
The cast includes Sonja Steen, Milo Toke Bendix Campanale, Ann Eleonora Jørgensen, Vivelill Søgaard Holm, Rasmus Hammerich, Peder Thomas Pedersen, Lila Nobel and Lukas Løkken.
