36 years after premiere, The Karate Kid inspires a new generation as the first two seasons of Cobra Kai arrive on Netflix, with a third on the way.
Netflix announced that it is the new home of Cobra Kai. The continuation of the Serie from Sony Pictures Television's iconic The Karate Kid film franchise. The film's stars, Ralph Macchio and William Zabka reprise their starring roles in the series. along with Martin Kove as Sensei John Kreese.
Under the terms of the agreement, the first two seasons of Cobra Kai from Sony Pictures Television will premiere on Netflix this year, with an all-new third season to follow.
What is the series about?
Cobra Kai takes place 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, where a successful Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) struggles to maintain balance in his life without the guidance of Mr. Miyagi. He must face his previous opponent. Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), who seeks redemption by reopening the infamous karate dojo Cobra Kai.
