The Netflix film The Elders tells the story of Ella, who returns to her hometown with her children for her sister's wedding. The small, remote town has changed a lot since he left: the young people have long since moved away, leaving most of the old people behind, seemingly forgotten by the rest of the world.
When a large storm hits the small town on the night of the wedding, the residents of a retirement home begin to behave strangely. Led by a giant pensioner, a group of elderly inmates attack the young caretakers with horrific brutality. After a blackout, they break through the security doors and escape into the cold rain. The music draws them to the wedding where soon Ella will have to fight for her family's survival.
The movie suspense and horror is part of the selection of Netflix & Scares 2022. The cast also includes Stephan Luca, Anna Unterberger, Bianca Nawrath, Otto Emil Koch, Maxine Kazis, Richard Manualpillai, Jeanne Goursaud, Paul Faßnacht and Gerhard Bös.
