The Netflix series from the creator of The Killing, is a character-driven Danish psychological thriller that has its roots in the Nordic noir genre. The series is based on award-winning writer Søren Sveistrup's debut novel, which has been translated into 28 languages and published in 50 countries.
The Hartung Affair is set in a quiet suburb of Copenhagen, where the police make a terrible discovery one stormy October morning. A young girl is found brutally murdered in a playground and is missing a hand.
Next to her lies a small man made of chestnuts. Ambitious young detective Naia Thulin is assigned to the case, along with her new partner, Mark Hess. They soon discover a mysterious piece of evidence about the brown man, evidence that links him to a girl who disappeared a year earlier and was presumed dead, the daughter of politician Rosa Hartung.
