The synopsis of the series, summary tells us; Dean and Nora Brannock have just bought their dream home in an idyllic suburb of Westfield, New Jersey, but after investing all their savings to close the deal, they soon realize that the neighborhood is very unwelcoming. First, there is Pearl, an eccentric old woman, and her brother Jasper, who breaks into the Brannock house and hides in the elevator. Then, Karen, the real estate agent and Nora's old friend, who makes them feel uncomfortable and out of place.
And nosy neighbors Mitch and Mo, who don't seem to understand the boundaries between their homes. The cold welcome quickly turns into hell when threatening letters begin to arrive from someone calling themselves the vigilant. The Brannocks are terrified and closer to breaking down as their neighbors' sinister secrets come to light.
